Dry hair

I have had alot of clients ask how to stop the dry hair that attacks us during this season. How to calm the static that just keeps shocking us. This is what I found to work for me; after your shampoo, towel dry your hair and add your conditioner from  ends to mid shaft. massage this in and don't rinse. This Will work as a styling agent and give you the weight you need to calm down that unruly hair.

Humidity : The hair question of the day.

<p>What can I do about humidity and the frizz it creates? I get asked this question at least once a day. This is my response (granted it is my own professional opinion) I believe that you should definitely start with a professional moisture shampoo follow by a professional conditioner, but here is the twist, you only put the conditioner on the ends to mid shaft. This way you get that moisture and avoid the over conditioned or greasy look and feel. Don't be afraid of the conditioner it is you friend and your hair will thank you. The other option would be a keratin treatment. I use and prefer Simply Smooth Keratin treatment it has less to no fymaldihyde derivatives. The treatment Will run you anywhere from $215-$245 depending on length of hair. With this you also will receive the keratin shampoo and conditioner as a follow up care. Humidity dries the hair and basically sucks all the nutrients out of it. Try  these and your humidity problems should be resolved.

New Beginnings

Things change and as women we aren't really good at dealing with that change. Here lately two really good friends and co-workers took a leap of change and it shifted the balance of my universe a lot. I must admit I was feeling pretty low about the whole thing, you know like having to get to know and trust a whole new group of girls. I must say you always learn from your past experiences. Now I realize these gals are alot happier and i'm happy for them. There is always a lesson to be learned, lesson 1: Never ever burn your bridges, cause you never know what the future holds and one day you might need to cross that bridge. Lesson 2:  The grass might be greener on the other side in the beginning, but you still have to water and fertilize it. Lesson 3: Be who you are and be proud of it, you are your own shining star. As for me I still love those two gals and miss them something terrible. I look forward to our monthly lunch dates and will hold them close to my heart. We will always be friends. So lets grab at our new beginnings and make the most out of what we have. I still have a great group of strong willed women I work with and love very much. Good night all.

Allow me to work my magic.....

Hi I guess  I should start my blog by saying hello friends and i hope my blog interests you.  So lets get started...... Lets start with the fact that not all shampoos are good for your hair, lots of these shampoos cause a waxy build up on the hair that can weigh the hair down and make it look dull and lifeless. These brand named shampoos can be found at your local Walmart, CVS, Walgreen's, so on and so forth (we all know what product I'm talking about). Professional products are out there for your use and even though they are a little more expensive they actually pay off in the end. I find that lots of people don't know how to properly shampoo their hair. I will teach you how right now. First of all pick a shampoo that best suits your type of hair condition, if you have oily hair then you don't need a moisture shampoo, you would need a daily care or a volumizing shampoo. Dry hair does need moisture however and I would like to  recommend Biomega Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner, we will get to the conditioner later. Never, Yep I said Never use HOT water to shampoo your hair!!! This is horrible, always used tepid water and shampoo to a lather rinse and repeat. The first time will break up the particles in the hair and the second shampoo will sweep those particles away. This is important people. As for Conditioning, which is key to any hair care prescription, to put moisture and nutrients back into the hair. Always allow conditioner to sit in hair 3-5 minutes then rinse in cool water to lock the cuticle. This locks in the nutrients you need and rinses what you don't need away ( not to mention cooler water is good to reduce body wrinkles). In my opinion its never good to shampoo everyday, I believe every other day or even twice a week is great. You hair has natural oils for a reason, so when you shampoo them away then they don't get to do their job. My preference instead of shampooing everyday try conditioner in its place. I promise if you follow this you will have shiny, bouncy,  full of life, easy to manage hair in about a week.
